Terms of service and sale
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Draft. Pending legal review. This text is not yet final and some company details are still to be completed.
These terms govern your use of Crowd Signal and any subscription you buy. Please read them before subscribing.
1. Who we are
Crowd Signal is operated by [À compléter], a [À compléter] with a share capital of [À compléter], registered at [À compléter], whose registered office is at [À compléter]. VAT number: [À compléter]. Publication director: [À compléter].
You can contact us at [À compléter].
2. The service
Crowd Signal collects news from public sources and organises it into sectors, topics you follow, with summaries.
Two levels of access are available:
- Free: follow one sector at a time.
- Sectors (monthly or annual): follow as many sectors as you like.
3. Your account
You sign in with a GitHub or Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to it secure. One account is for one person.
4. Prices
The price of each plan is shown on the pricing page and again on the payment page before you pay. Prices in euros include VAT. Prices in US dollars exclude tax; any applicable sales tax is added at payment, depending on your location.
The annual plan costs twelve months at the monthly price, less the discount shown.
5. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s pages and are never received or stored by us. An invoice is issued for every payment and is available from the billing page.
6. Automatic renewal and cancellation
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it.
You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: you keep access until then, and you are not charged again. You can undo a cancellation until that date.
7. Changing plan
Switching from monthly to annual takes effect immediately; the difference, calculated on a pro-rata basis, is charged at once. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at your next renewal date; nothing is charged or refunded when you make the change.
8. Right of withdrawal (14 days)
For your first subscription, you may withdraw within 14 days of your first payment and receive a full refund, without giving a reason. You do so from the billing page (“Cancel now and get a full refund”). Access to the paid plan ends immediately.
By subscribing, you ask for the service to start at once. We nevertheless offer the full refund above for the whole 14-day period. See the refund policy for details.
9. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails or needs your bank’s confirmation, we let you know and retry it automatically for a limited time, during which you keep access. You can complete the payment at any time from the billing page. If payment is still not made at the end of that period, the subscription ends.
10. When a plan ends
When a paid plan ends, your account returns to the free plan. Nothing is deleted: the sectors you followed beyond the free limit are paused, and you choose which one to keep. Subscribing again restores all of them.
11. Promotional offers
Promotion codes and offers apply under the conditions stated with them (amount, duration, eligibility). An offer cannot be exchanged for cash and applies only to the subscription it was used on.
12. Availability of the service
We do our best to keep Crowd Signal available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Summaries are generated automatically and may contain errors; always refer to the original article.
13. Liability
Within the limits permitted by law, our liability is limited to direct damage and, for a paid subscription, to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Closing your account
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account used in breach of these terms, after notifying you where the law requires it.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you about any significant change before it applies to you; if you disagree, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
In case of a dispute, please contact us first. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer it free of charge to the consumer mediator [À compléter] ([À compléter]), or use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
